Feathered Friends

Our New Zealand birds may not have splendid colours, but they have great character and some can produce beautiful sounds such as our chortling, whistling tuis and even the heavy wood pigeons as they wing their way through the bush.

Pukekos, quirky blue and black birds with rich reddy orange beaks and legs, often feature in my work, partly because I see them as an icon for our rental vehicle company Bluebird Rentals. They can be very funny and are quite stilted in their movements. They are terrible fliers and may well end up grounded like our Kiwis if they don't exercise their wings a little more.
